October Workshop Wrap-up: Cooking Up Memoirs
We had a great time at the Brazos Writers workshop on Saturday, October 25. Houston writer Gayle Wigglesworth, who has produced her own family memoir/cookbook, did a terrific job of walking participants through how to format their recipes, use them as catalysts for your memories, and turn them into a family memoir. Stay tuned for our next workshop opportunity.
November Monthly Meeting: Open Readings
Our November monthly meeting will be on Wednesday, November 12, at 7 pm at the Arts Council Center (2275 Dartmouth Street in College Station). It's an open readings meeting, which means you can share your inspired writing or be inspired by listening to others. If you read on our theme for the month, you could win a prize! The theme for November is "Political Animal," so there should be lots of good inspiration running around. As added entertainment, we'll be holding elections for next year's board of directors. Don't miss all the excitement!
Write a Novel in a Month
November is National Novel Writing Month. Check out the details at http://www.nanowrimo.org.
Holiday Story and Monthly Meeting: Social
December's monthly meeting on Wednesday, December 10, at 7pm at the Arts Council Center (2275 Dartmouth Street in College Station) will be our annual Holiday Social. Come visit with your fellow writers, find out about works in progress, and hear our collective holiday story. If you are a member in good standing and you are interested in participating in creating the round-robin Christmas story, please contact us.
